PM receives Kuwait’s highest honor

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has been bestowed with the prestigious Order of Mubarak Al-Kabaeer, Kuwait’s highest honor, underscoring the significance of his visit.

The Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, conferred the award.

Indian Prime Minister dedicated the honor to the longstanding relationship between India and Kuwait, the Indian community in Kuwait, and India’s 1.4 billion people.

The award bestowed on Narendra Modi adds profound significance to the historic visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait after a 43-year gap.

The award has been given to select global leaders since 1974.

With the new strategic partnership, the two sides pledged to strengthen bilateral relations through comprehensive and structured cooperation in political, trade, investment, defense, security, energy, culture, education, technology, and people-to-people ties.

They recalled centuries-old historical bonds based on shared history and culture. They highlighted with satisfaction the regular encounters at all levels that have fueled and sustained comprehensive bilateral cooperation. Both sides stressed the importance of regular ministerial and senior-official exchanges to maintain high-level momentum.

India and Kuwait welcomed the creation of a Joint Commission on Cooperation (JCC). The Foreign Ministers of both countries will lead the JCC, which will assess and supervise all bilateral interactions.
