A well-known brand of potato chips, Frito-Lay, is urgently being recalled across the country due to concerns regarding possible contamination, as the company and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated today.

The recall includes various flavors of chips sold under the Frito-Lay name. It was initiated after routine quality inspections found traces of unlabeled allergens, foreign substances, or bacterial contamination, such as Salmonella.

Consumers must examine the packaging for batch numbers and expiration dates on the bags’ backs. The affected products were available in major grocery chains, convenience stores, and online retailers nationwide.

“We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and quality of our products and are executing this recall out of an abundance of caution,” the company stated. “We apologize for any trouble this may cause and urge customers to dispose of the affected products immediately.”

No cases of illness or injury have been reported, providing some reassurance. However, anyone experiencing symptoms like allergic reactions or stomach issues after eating the product should seek assistance from a healthcare provider.

Consumers are encouraged to return the recalled chips to their place of purchase for a full refund or contact the company’s customer service hotline for more help. For additional information, please visit the FDA’s website.
