Himachal Pradesh’s Tourism Efforts Shine with Two Prestigious Awards.
The India Today Group has recognized the efforts of the present state Government in promoting tourism by awarding the state in two categories.
At an event in Delhi, Bir-Billing was awarded the Editor’s Choice Best Adventure Destination, while Dharamshala was recognized as the Best Mountain Destination. These accolades boost the state’s tourism profile and positively impact the local economy. Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty received the awards on behalf of the State Government.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu congratulated the people of Himachal Pradesh on this achievement, saying that the government has been consistently working to boost tourism over the past two years. As a result, the state has witnessed a rise in tourist footfall. He further reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the tourism sector in the coming years, assuring a better experience for visitors in Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh Residents to Benefit from Reduced Electricity Tariff.
The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has issued the tariff order for the sale of electricity by the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) to consumers for the financial year 2025-26.
A State Government spokesperson stated that the Commission has reduced electricity rates for most consumer categories, significantly relieving the state’s people. Notably, the tariff for domestic consumers has been reduced by 15 paise per unit, which will help lower electricity bills and ease household financial burden.
After a detailed review of the tariff order issued by the Commission, the Government of Himachal Pradesh will soon announce subsidies for various consumer categories for the financial year 2025-26.
Basanti Thakur retires as APRO
Today, a retirement ceremony was organized at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations Department to honor Basanti Thakur, Assistant Public Relations Officer, and Tulsi Ram, Senior Assistant, on their superannuation.
Basanti Thakur served the department for nearly 39 years, while Tulsi Ram contributed around 37 years. They held various positions at the department’s headquarters and district offices throughout their careers.
On this occasion, Director Rajiv Kumar appreciated their valuable contributions and extended his best wishes for their health. He emphasized that dedicated employees enhance the department’s efficiency and inspire others.
Joint Directors Mahesh Pathania, Uttam Chand Kaundal, and other officers and staff members attended the event.
