Three Arrested for Liquor Smuggling
Chandigarh Police arrested three individuals in separate cases under the Excise Act. In the first case, Parshant (24, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh) was apprehended near Bridge Forest Area Road, Makhan Majra, with 56 quarters of country liquor. An FIR No. 44 under Section 61-1-14 of the Excise Act was registered at Mauli Jagran Police Station. In the second case, Vikash (29, Sector 49/C, Chandigarh) was arrested at Sector 49 C&D turn with 23 quarters of country liquor, and FIR No. 31 was registered at Sector 49 Police Station. In the third case, Raman (24, Dadu Majra, Chandigarh) was caught near the Sports Complex, Sector 38/West, with 56 quarters of country liquor, leading to FIR No. 65 at Chandigarh Police Station. All three accused were later released on bail, and the investigation is ongoing.

Two Theft Cases Reported
In the first theft case, based on a complaint by Uddhav Garg (Sector 28/D, Chandigarh), FIR No. 58 under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Sector 26 Police Station against an unknown person who stole an inverter and battery from his house on June 3, 2025. In the second case, Sohail (Dadu Majra, Chandigarh) reported the theft of cable wires from a solar plant at Quant Solar Company, Water Works, Sector 39, on the night of June 2-3, 2025. FIR No. 65 under Section 305 BNS was registered at Maloya Police Station. Investigations are in progress for both cases.

Visa Fraud of ₹36.75 Lakh
A complaint by Sarbjit Singh (Ghaunchor Village, SBS Nagar, Punjab) and others led to FIR No. 64 under Sections 318(4), 61(2) BNS, and 24 of the Immigration Act at Sector 17 Police Station. The accused, Anubhav Garg (Kailash Parvat, Sarangpur, Punjab) and others, allegedly defrauded the complainants of ₹36.75 lakh in a visa scam. The investigation is ongoing.

Prisoner Escapes from PGI Chandigarh
Based on a complaint by Punjab Police Line Officer SI Paramjit Singh, FIR No. 81 under Sections 261, 262 BNS was registered at Sector 11 Police Station against Gopi (Ravi Das Nagar, Hoshiarpur, Punjab), a prisoner who escaped from PGI Chandigarh on June 2, 2025. Punjab Police officers ASI Vijay Kumar and ASI Suram Chand were on duty at the time. The investigation is underway.
