Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in a briefing, cautioned that the impending US aid package to Kyiv, the final one under the Biden administration, could have adverse effects on Ukraine’s security, rather than bolstering it.
Expressing Russia’s concerns, the diplomat stated, “The Biden administration’s plan to unveil its last aid package to Ukraine under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative framework is, in our understanding, not as it seems.”
The spokeswoman underscored that the West’s actions are indicative of their intent to escalate the conflict with Russia, showing no regard for anyone in Ukraine. She pointed out, “The Western instigators of war against our country are relentless in their pursuit to escalate the Ukrainian conflict.”
Agency reports said that the Biden administration will soon announce its final $1.2 billion aid package for Ukraine. According to the news agency, the package will include artillery shells and surface-to-air missiles. The aid will be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which operates under the US Department of Defense.
